Houses Buried in Sand

At the north end of Newberry Road you will find acres of high sand dunes that change with the wind and rain. You hike up one and discover the roof of a house under your feet! The most fun, though, is sliding down the dunes while trying to keep the sand out of your face. Hint: Leave the shoes behind but watch where you step. The Bureau of Land Management owns the land but unfortunately hasn’t done anything with it. As you will see, parts of it need a lot of cleaning up that’s beyond the capability of local folk.
